Elizabeth Benninger, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of psychology. She is also a community psychologist, educator and researcher whose work focuses on promoting mental health, wellness and community well-being through education, research and community partnerships. She is the founder of Healthy Minds Healthy Communities Consulting, where she develops evidence-informed programs that empower youth and strengthen communities.
Benninger earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa, where her research explored children's self-identity, social environments and well-being. She has worked in both international and local community settings and has experience as a university instructor, community-engaged researcher and program developer.
Passionate about teaching, Benninger enjoys helping students connect psychological theories to everyday life and understand how psychology can be applied to improve individual well-being, relationships and communities.
